Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is a mural?
A mural is a piece of art painted directly onto a wall, floor, ceiling, or surface. Murals can be as unique as you are, working to your specific requirements, such as size, colour palette, and budget. I paint in a wide range of styles, from realistic intricate murals, to bold geometric or typography designs (and everything in between)
Why have a mural
Here are just some of the great reasons to consider a mural:
-
Murals can be as personal and unique as you are
-
They can be an educational aid for schools, libraries, community centres
-
They can tell a story, allowing your business to communicate visually
-
They celebrate the arts, diversity, culture, community, history, tradition
-
Murals can evoke emotions and inspire creativity & productivity in your work environment, or business
-
Attractive, well designed & executed murals can become tourist attractions, increasing footfall for local business
-
They can elevate your brand, share your identity/values/objectives, and captivate potential clients
-
They are eye-catching, memorising, and just blooming’ beautiful!
What surfaces can you paint on?
Ideally a smooth, pre-plastered, and fully prepped wall. Exterior walls/surfaces such as brick & concrete can be painted, but this changes the level of detail within the design which I can explain more about. Murals cannot be painted onto wallpaper or lining paper as these will alter the quality and result.
What types of paint do you use?
The finest quality paints, made in Australia and scientifically tested for Australian conditions
How long does it take?
As a guide, a hand-painted mural usually takes between 2-3 days. However, this does depend on the size of the space, the level of detail within the design, the weather conditions (for exterior murals) access, etc. Once painted by a professional artist, murals can last for years if they are cared for.
